What We Do

Our Focus:

UBC exists to strengthen the Wisconsin School of Business student experience through community, leadership development, and student-led improvement. We create opportunities for students to connect, grow professionally, and feel supported—while also building systems that help student voices translate into real action.

Our focus includes:

  • Building an inclusive, welcoming community across WSB
  • Developing student leaders through hands-on roles and responsibility
  • Creating events and resources that make involvement accessible and low-pressure
  • Turning student feedback into concrete improvements

Collaboration with Student Organizations

UBC works alongside WSB student organizations to amplify impact, reduce duplication, and create experiences that benefit more students. We believe the best outcomes happen when student leaders share ideas, align calendars, and build together.

How we collaborate:

  • Co-hosting events and initiatives with partner orgs
  • Cross-promoting opportunities to help students find their fit
  • Building shared resources and playbooks that make student org leadership easier
  • Connecting org leaders to the right WSB contacts when needed

Student Feedback and Advocacy

Student input is central to UBC’s work. We create multiple channels for students to share concerns, ideas, and gaps they’re noticing—and we treat that feedback as something to act on, not just collect.

What this looks like:

  • Collecting feedback through forms, conversations, and open forums
  • Identifying patterns (not just one-off issues) to prioritize what matters most
  • Communicating themes back to students transparently
  • Helping move ideas forward through clear next steps and accountability

Connection to WSB Administration

UBC serves as a bridge between students and WSB administration. We help ensure student priorities are heard, clarified, and communicated effectively—while building trust and collaboration across both sides.

How we support this connection:

  • Sharing student experience insights and trends with administrative partners
  • Helping student leaders navigate processes, policies, and key contacts
  • Bringing forward actionable recommendations
  • Supporting implementation by helping communicate updates back to students

Other Areas We’re Known For

UBC’s work spans both “community-building” and “continuous improvement”—because students deserve both.

Additional priorities include:

  • Culture-building: fostering a WSB environment that’s supportive, collaborative, and fun
  • Continuity: creating systems so progress carries forward year to year (not reinvented every semester)
  • Student experience design: making events, resources, and involvement easier to access and more meaningful
